Andrus Raag is an artist from Estonia, born in 1982. He started painting in the end of 1990's, inspired by the 19th century national romantic movement and fantasy art genre.
In 2001 he went to the Tartu University to study philosophy and started taking painting courses from the side. By 2003 the interest in art had grown so strong that he decided to exchange faculties and study painting instead, also in Tartu University. During his studies he was first introduced to expressionism. All of his exhibitions from that period focus on the latter.
After graduating in 2008 he became the member of both the Painter's and the Artist's Association. At the same time he started working in Voru Town Gallery and continued painting actively. During this period he rediscovered his interest towards fantasy art which had brought him to painting in the first place. In 2010 he introduced his first all-fantasy exhibition set called 'Camouflage'.
In 2012 Andrus Raag went to study multimedia design in Denmark where for the first time he was closely introduced to digital art and computer game design. The connections made there resulted in creating the computer game company Rocknight Studios in 2014 with his Latvian colleagues. At the moment he is working on his first mobile/computer game called Rough Rush, planned to be released in the beginning of 2016. At the same time he continues to paint and take part in exhibitions both in Estonia and abroad.CV of Andrus Raag
